About Lisa Rhoades

Ms. Rhoades is tied to Louisiana through Louisiana State University, where she received her B.A. She has and M.F.A. from Columbia University. Her work has appeared in journals and anthologies including Pleiades, Poetry East, Potato Eyes, Chelsea among others. Her 2002 chapbook, Into Grace , was the winner of the 2002 Riverstone Poetry Chapbook Award. She has won awards for individual poems from Poet Lore, Willow Springs, Sutton Hoo Press, and Sow’s Ear. In 2003, she read in the Paumanok Poetry Award Series at SUNY Farmingdale. She has a nursing degree from New York University and is currently a postpartum and pediatric nurse.
