Holy Bedlam

Guitars talking
Drums walking
Our classical music
Crowning poet laureates
With a found light.
I am haunted by wind and fire.
I am blessed by earth and water—
A baptism of grass and rain.
I will pull off my shoes,
Roll up my favorite jeans,
And dance to a Bedouin bedlam
Pounding in my heart,
Beating in my veins,
Pressing into my brain,
Out of some haunting, rolling necessity.
And I know there is some gospel in that.
