Winter

Snow rests on the solid ground,
like a tired child collapsing onto the floor.
Everything in view dressed in a white sweater
as a tree is buried in the snow, thick as marshmallows.
From the forest filled plains to snowy mountain tops,
drifting shadows cover shimmering snow.
Bright colors strike with a blow.
Giant trees stretch out to meet the falling angels.
The world opens up so snow can run down,
the mountains extend past the limits of the human eye.
Up above in the heavens
sharp mountains cut through clouds like butter.
