You tell me I will not succeed.
You say history is not for me.
You are better than that.
You are more capable of more.
Why pursue history when it is such a bore?
I’m sorry; I don’t think history
Is something to abhor.
It is my passion.
I love nothing more.
But you must think of riches
And power you could possess,
But instead you want to teach,
Something so much less.
This is my life.
This is what I want to do.
I will follow my heart;
To it I must be true.
Then follow your heart,
But realize you could be great.
I’d rather be happy
Than do something I hate.
